German Chamomile is the strongest essential oil analgesic we have found. It is incredibly calming, and has antibacterial, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, and disinfectant qualities. It is incredibly effective at relieving physical pain and healing the cause.

Eucalyptus is well known for clearing the respiratory system. It also relieves mental and physical fatigue. Its stimulating aroma, and cooling properties raise your spirits and eases stress. Its anti-inflamitory properties also soothe aching muscles. |

Tangerine inspires joy and vitality. Its citrus quality makes it great for toning the skin…aiding in preventing stretch marks. If you massage it deeply into your glutes and thighs (or anywhere else that might need it) it help s to break down cellulite. |
Lavender is considered by many to be a “cure all” essential oil. It is calming and sedative. It eases depression and nervous tension. We use it in our blends to relax the muscular tissues, assisting in the expansion of your abdominal cavity as your baby grows. It also has anti-inflammatory, disinfectant, and antiseptic properties. Lavender stimulates circulation bringing more blood to the abdominal area which is incredibly healthy for your baby.

Rose facilitates the relaxation of your ligaments; this assists in opening the pelvic cavity and releasing the baby. It also has slight analgesic effects. It is a natural antiseptic and it tones the cardiac muscle.

Geranium stimulates the circulatory system. It is an excellent essential oil for strengthening the uterus so that it can do its job with grace during labor. It is supportive and nurturing to the whole female reproductive system. Geranium is an antidepressant and activates the beautiful mothering instincts. It is also brings on the great sensations of being reassured. Geranium is also a wonderful essential oil to use after birth and as your baby grows for the aforementioned reasons and because it has a contractive effect on the uterus, which will assist the uterus in returning to its pre-pregnancy shape and position. |
Peppermint aides in circulation. It is a respiratory aid that inspires you to breath more deeply into every contraction. For this reason we put it in our birthing blends. Peppermint also aids in digestion, and has antiseptic qualities as well.

Rosemary is a physical and mental stimulant that is effective in helping you regain your strength and focus. It increases vitality to boost your energy in labor and is great at giving your muscles new strength. It also assists in treating memory loss, cellulite, and acne. It is an antiseptic, and is great for the hair. |
Neroli assists in balancing the nervous system, helping your whole body to maintain its alignment when the birthing is complete. It facilitates easy breathing, which makes the whole birthing process easier by increasing the oxygen in your blood and invoking a collected energy. It is also an antidepressant. Lastly, the true magic of this oil for a birthing mama is that it aids in opening the cervix!

Mandarin clears the digestive system. Many babies have digestive issues and this will assist their body in working through those issues—this oil will work its magic in the bath and by being gently massaged over the baby’s tummy. Melissa Hydrosol is great for soothing the skin when it is aggravated by unruly hormones. It also relieves headaches, insomnia, and nausea so it is great to spray on your face while pregnant (it can be sprayed over make up too). Its anti-inflammatory qualities also sooth outbreaks. |
| Foraha (or Calophyllum inophyllm, or Tamanu)
is a magical oil in and of itself. It has great cell regeneration properties and it has been effectively used to heal eczema, burns, cuts, rashes, and insect bites. Thus, it works wonders on those annoying blemishes that develop on hormonally affected skin, it is also used for aiding in the healing of lesions due to herpes and shingles. Foraha has analgesic properties, which bring a welcome relief to deep blemishes. |

Tea Tree oil is 4-5 times stronger than generic household antiseptics and it is non-toxic to the body. Its antibacterial properties make it a powerful disinfectant when applied to skin irritations such as pimples. It is also used to cleaning small wounds, where its antiseptic properties promote quick, clean healing. |
| Jojoba oil is one of the several known plant extracts whose composition closely resembles the oil that our own skin produces. For this reason we use jojoba as the carrier oil for many of our blends. Being so similar to our own skin oil it dissolves sebum build up in pours and helps keep the skin fresh and regenerating. Jojoba oil generally works for all skin types. Also, jojoba oil does not go rancid. |

Apricot Kernel Oil aids in keeping sensitive skin supple. Most pregnant skin becomes sensitive and needs to remain supple in order to stretch gracefully around your growing baby. It also eases inflammation and itching and reduces discoloration in the skin.
